The Hart of Newhall

BY 1925, William S. Hart had starred in over 60 silent films and retired from the Hollywood lifestyle. The silent movie star then moved to the Santa Clarita Valley and built his own home and ranch. His home, which is now The William S. Hart Ranch and Museum, boasts a 22 room mansion, containing many of Hart's treasured items including Native American artifacts and western themed art. After his death in 1946, his ranch was opened to the public and is still open to this day. The museum has also become home to many farm animals including the esteemed bison.
