  1. and i'm still amazed that the signage and insignia survive even though the building has been repurposed. though the company is technically still around, MGM died the day their sign was removed from the top of the buildings on old Lot 2 in... was it 1986?

  2. you'd be amazed to see what they've done to the complex...recent rehab...they've turned it into a paved "walk street"; weekends, i hear, they are going to start showing movies outdoors on one of the old bakery walls

  3. What a fantastic idea! I wish more businesses would have such a respect for the nostalgia that may surround something long gone that they find a way to commemorate it and make it useful to the people. I'd love to go to an outdoor movie there!

  4. Yes, I was happy to see that instead of defining "re-purpose" as "tear down" they're trying to figure it out.
